How your support allows for the best possible treatment.
Dr. Robert Hayes is a dermatologist who works out of the J.T. Clark Family Foundation Ambulatory Clinic at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Lottery proceeds supported in the recent renovation and expansion of the Clinic, more than doubling its footprint.
Key features of the renovated clinic include:
- Expanded space and natural light to create a calming and healing atmosphere.
- Improved ergonomic layout to facilitate better patient flow and staff efficiency.
- Advanced procedure rooms equipped with the latest technology for enhanced patient care.
- Dedicated team rooms for increased patient confidentiality and privacy.
Dr. Hayes was a champion of this campaign to renovate and expand this vital space in our hospital. The clinic is primarily an adult medical-surgical clinic that offers a vast range of specialized services to over 42,000 patients annually.
Dr. Hayes was also critical in ensuring that our ambulatory clinic was the first in Atlantic Canada to have the Mohs Micrographic Surgery Clinic in 2006. The expansion of the ambulatory clinic will lead to 40%+ Mohs patients. Dr. Hayes cares for more than 450 patients annually, from across the province and beyond, with plans to increase by at least 200 patients this year as the clinic reopens its doors. Mohs surgery streamlines skin cancer treatment by offering one-day procedures with real-time margin assessment, and immediate reconstruction, resulting in improved patient experience and streamlined patient flow.
“I can’t tell you how relieved most of my patients are to be able to receive all their treatment in one day and then walk out of our office knowing they are cancer free.” – Dr. Robert Hayes
